Tyre Size 21
Tyres are rubber or composite ring-shaped components that surround a vehicle’s wheel rims and provide traction, cushioning, and grip on the road. They are essential for a vehicle’s handling and performance.
Here are some things to know about tyres:
Construction
The tread is the part of the tyre that touches the road. It’s made of a layer of rubber that’s designed for the tyre’s intended use. The tread’s thickness protects the carcass and belt.
Markings
The sidewall of a tyre contains a lot of information, including:
Size: The width of the tyre in millimeters, the aspect ratio, and the type of construction. For example, “265/35R21 89T” indicates a tyre with a width of 185 millimeters, an aspect ratio of 75%, and radial ply construction.
Load index: A number that indicates the maximum load the tyre can support when fully inflated.
Speed rating: A letter from A to Z that indicates the maximum speed the tyre can sustain at its recommended load.
Manufacturing date: A string of numbers and letters that indicates when the tyre was made. The last four numbers indicate the date of manufacture.
